How to knock over a 200lb Afghan mercenary

I had a meeting this afternoon with the foreman of the security company we contract. He’s this big Afghan tough guy - intimidating appearance, trains with the armed forces, survived being shot, that kind of thing. And here I am, a woman, responsible for the security at the fort. He seems to be okay with that and takes it seriously given I am the client. However, today I almost knocked him over with the suggestion that I wanted our groundsman to show me how to operate the generator. What??? You can’t do that?!? Well it can’t be that difficult I said. Then I hit him with the big guns: I even know how to drive. What??? You know how to drive??? Of course, I said, I’m American. Everyone in America drives. (Okay, not entirely true, but as a broad generalization, true.) He was speechless.
