The cocktail and canape set

Last week I went to the restaurant mentioned in the article and invited my driver/guide/valued member of my team to have lunch there. The armed guard at the door wouldn't allow him to enter: no Afghans allowed on the premises (unless you work there of course!). Funny, I thought I was in Afghanistan. It is shocking the wide disparity between the haves and have nots, not to mention the complete disregard for the fact that such a disparity exists, even by other Afghans.
